Teal Pumpkin Project ® Ideas: Allergy-Free Halloween Treats

Here's how you can help make Halloween allergy-free and inclusive for all trick-or-treaters through the Teal Pumpkin Project®.

An Allergy-Free Halloween

Creepy crawlies and ghouls galore!

It’s almost All Hallows’ Eve and while little vampires and zombies are gearing up to canvas your neighborhood streets, amongst princesses, robots, and an infinite amount of tv and movie characters, a very real and serious threat looms over children with food allergies.

Popular candies given out on Halloween are often either made with common allergens like dairy, eggs, and nuts, or are produced in facilities that process products with those allergens, exposing them to the risk of cross-contamination. This factor makes it both difficult and dangerous for kids with food allergies to relish in the pure enjoyment and sweet rewards of trick-or-treating.

FARE’s Teal Pumpkin Project® pushes for allergy-safe and inclusive treats to give out on October 31st. By placing a teal pumpkin in front of your house and providing non-food related goodies to your trick-or-treaters, you can spread awareness for food allergies, while also showing that your house is ready-to-go with allergy-free Halloween treats.
